Turned mobs off to spawn a new map and accidentally left them off whilst mining, made cave mining a lot less stressful and less deadly experience and for once I was able to collect a nice large amount of ore without experiencing fssssssssssss-BOOM. So, the project can now continue! Just need some lava now, and fortunately I know exactly where to get it.

Bah, what's the point if you can just walk in and take whatever is in the natural caves.

Ordinarily I'd agree with you, but when you've been killed about six times in a row, it starts to lose its fun.

Right, now since the sea won't come to my base, I'll have to make the train go to the sea.

Haha, I'm starting to think this down-time was orchestrated to get people addicted to the game and then force them to buy it once they have fixed the "problem".

lol, if you get sick of being killed just change the difficulty to peaceful, and voila, no monsters

S'what I did in the end, but I turned them back on when I finished getting my ore.

Anyway, this is what I needed the lava for, a lighthouse to guide the boat back in to the harbour. Gonna throw some more torches up on the roof to make it a bit brighter.

I'm completely lost. I went to wander in the natural caves and I'm propably around 150 bricks below the ground. I've no idea where did I came from and I don't have pickaxe's left...

Stairway to the mine.

I was going to have a night on Red Orchestra but you've all ruined that for me now by getting me addicted to this
And Crecy I usually find if I get lost, build yourself some stairs heading up, just keep going until you come out, then you have a secondary entrance to the mine/caves really deep down where all the good stuff is
