Default S-39 to base: Scratch 1 flattop!

To ComSubPac:
From S-39.

Torpedoed one large AC probable Shokaku class, 2 hits, large secondary explosion, sinking rapidly. Went deep to evade escorts. Kuma class picking up survivors, put two fish into her, two hits, also blew up.

Score:
S-39: 2
Japanese:0

(note:escorts made zero effort to look for me )

Send Canopus, we need more icecream and new movies.

A fishing boat at dawn outside Dutch Harbor, Aleutian Islands. Unretouched, using RFB mod.

I think this is caused by resizing the screenies. Lets hope patch 1.2 will solve the lack of AA & AF.
Yeah, it's a scandal that a graphics-heavy game such as this could be released in 2007 with a maximum resolution of 1024x768 and with no anti-aliasing capability. Actually it was scandalous in 2005 when they did it with SH3. You'd think they'd learn from their mistakes, but it seems each time they have to be taught over again. I mean 1024x768? It's ridiculous - it's getting to the point where computers don't even support resolutions that low yet here we have a simulation game that barely gets that high.

I mean if they're worried about framerate they really ought to worry about other stuff - like bugs. Let me worry about the framerate.

Well said. It's commonly known that games require strong machines, that's no surprise to us gamers anymore.

I like the post-process filter
I think the game is too blue without it.. Dunno why..
but it looks better with the filter on

I agree Foo. The game graphics was designed to use PPF. At least this is how it looks to me. Some are really buggin about the AA. If AA is every supported I still will use the PPF. It just looks good to me.

I loathe the post-process filter. It's supposed to look like WW2 colour photography but it looks nothing like it to me, and I've done recreations of WW2 colour photos and film stills.

I wonder if different cards are rendering different things. I don't see any reported grainy images when use PPF. Yes it bumps the colour up, making the overall effect warmer. It also adds contrast to the image. (ATI X1800XT) :hmm:

Also, the 3.0 shader support? I use the ATI X1300. PPF is great and I will never change it. I do not know it PPF was an attempt to show it as a WW2 film:hmm:. It does not look like film to me. It is warm and a different look to the game. To me it is a change from the cleanliness of the other games I enjoy.

FooFighters, those are some great shots. I especially like the way the wakes are represented in the one with the sub and carrier cruising together.

This is what I get using the PPF filter (ATI X1800XT)

PPF "OFF"

PPF "ON"

I like both pics but prefer the PPF picture.
