That's the type of thing you'd expect to see at one of the large computer trade shows.

Short of still playing it, that really gives one a healthy taste! I haven't gone on patrol for a couple of months. Maybe its time to give AOD and SHCE a spin again.

Are those real screen shots? They look 'enhanced' to me.

Neat, although the graphics didn't look that good on my screen. It won't play on my laptop though.

It had some great interviews with the U-boat commanders! Just for the game . It had a dynamic campaign, good AI, great manual...

It did have some hella-nasty crash bugs though

This thread brings back many memories. I played CAOD for many hours. What a truly awesome sim! I still have it in the cabinet. I remember the full installation only took 20MB of space. I don't think patches today are even smaller than that! The only real bug I hated with CAOD was the BSODs I would get, rather frequently, when trying to use FAT torpedoes (and sometimes LUT).

The bug I hated the most (other than the program crashes), the sub would suddenly surface (no button had been pushed!) They did fix this. They mailed out patch disks. Pre-internet days!
