As of right now I do not have those. What I am trying to do is get all the SH2 PA and DC mods that I can get in one place so those who would like them can have them without looking all over the net, which most of are now gone.

Any help to gather mods would be helpful.

Please remember that the 1024 res mod (Hi-res kit) is a bonus mod here at subsim.com

The rest can be freely distributed as long as the author allowed it

@Old Man:

Why do you want PM 1.02? The 1.03 version superceded it and fixed some bugs...

Seems like Kriegstanz 3.0 (or Kriegspiel 3.0) will finally see the light. I just read this in the Kriegstanz forums:

Due to the complexing programing involed, Kriegspiel 3.0 will be released shortly. I am testing things out now to make sure it all works with both SH2 and DC. Work on this I know has been slow, but with real live time crunches I have been only working on it as I can.
Can't wait for it . Will be a nice add for your collection of SH2/DC mods and utilities.

@ Hitman: tienes un MP en tu bandeja .

Question for you regarding the med campaign for DC...in the readme file it says to go to "Matelot" website to download something (ships I think). Do you have that website and/or files that are needed to install that campaign? Thank you

Im a total newbie to this site. I've been playing SH2 for some time now and just recently learned you can edit the game a little. I have no idea how to, or where to go. I do know how to access the Shell documents (if that means anything). Can someone help me out?

Wellcome aboard!

There used to be a document here at subsim.com downloads section where Neal explained nicely how to script missions :hmm:

In SH2/DC most images are TGA you can edit with PaintShop or Photoshop or any other graphics editing program. You can also convert them to bitmap, edit and then convert to TGA back.

For other files like sensors, weapons, units and such, most files can be opened with notepad. Go around trying a bit and you will soon see which ones....usually the smaller are plain text files (.DSF, .SDF, .DDS and such can be opened with notepad IIRC)

Okay, im at the page where I can see: common, configure, db, fonts insignia, movies, music, save, shell, sim, text, topp, viewer, messages, readme.

Now let's start from here. Are most mods done in the sim folder? I dont care much for messing with graphics and stuff, just minor stuff to make the game a little more fun. Like maybe a new depth guage, I thought I heard a mod regarding Das Boot my favorite movie. I definately want to dive faster, maybe some different sounds, voices, whistles things like that. And i heard you can command the Bismarck. That would be neat. Any Idea's? Thanks for that info Hitman

Yes it's most in the "sim" subfolders. There's where you will find the files for units & weapons tweaking, plus sounds

In "shell" you'll find all related to game menu interface (Not submarine interface!)

Hope that helps

This is the page I found the mods at. I dowloaded the ones i want but now I don't know how to make them active. I tried playing the game and nothing has changed. I haven't done anything to any files except download these then turn on the game.
If you can't already tell, i have no idea what to type in the folders. That is what I need help with.

So in a nutshell, i've downloaded the mods...now what....?
I am running SH2 on 98 as well.

Each file should have a readme telling you how to install. Have you checked it and followed the steps? :hmm:

Ahhh I see. I did not see those, or thought the readme's we're nothing to read.
One problem, when I click on one of the mods, windows cannot find the file to it.
I guess I will leave SH2 the way it is. I play DC allot too, we have both games on both computers in the house, I haven't tried the multiplayer for it yet. I think I dowloaded the patch already though.
