1 Gig of Ram difference...
Just because I had a spare stick of Ram in my hand, I put it into one of my PC's that runs W7 32x. It had 2G's initially, now has 3. For giggles I updated the WPI - and the ram score went from a 5.2 to a 7.5......
Now thats a pretty big leap for adding 1 G of ram - especially when you consider that the stick I added was a slower stick than the 2 800's I have in the box.... So even though the speed on all three has dropped, the speed overall is increased. Just one more proof that more ram is a good thing. This has been a public service announcement.

I just ordered a 2GBx2 pack... got 6 gigs right now, but I'm gonna swap out the two 1 gig sticks and max it out at 8 gigs. Because why not? I still remember when I finally maxed out the RAM on my previous rig... I think at the time that amounted to doubling what I had. It was almost like having a brand new computer for a while. I was able to temper my desire for a new system for at least a year or more just from that simple and relatively inexpensive upgrade. But next I'm gonna want a new gfx card. I can feel the itch already. |

Wouldn't it be great if you had a dimm slot on your graphics cards (sodimm would be more realistic), upgrade when you want!
I glance in and out of the graphics card market but am stuck with what I've got, it does me well in all things so far, not outstanding but well.
