As an update, my tutorial still crashes when the two new ships spawn . So I guess I will be finally forced to shelf this game until it's been patched. So much for buying it on releaseday...

Using external view, I now see that the raindrops on the lens does not move away, and get stuck. I have to my knowledge no camera mod enabled atm.

Recognition the target (res. 1024x768):
- Compare the ship's shape with identical picture on recognition book.
- Eeee..... Where is this ship?

Interesting. As a matter of fact, the ships that came up were US escort carriers and the like.

However, I did not and do not have the SH 4 GUI mod installed at all. Seems I somehow managed to activate it anyways...

My signature image show the moon in a waxing or waning state, but the tilting looks odd. As if the sun were up in the sky and not below the horizon.

On second thought, perhaps I am mistaken about this

Dunno if this is already mentioned, but played at a friends place (still didn't buy it...still undecided about the whole thing) But in one game i noticed that the Binos the watch wore flickered.

as in disappeared in transparency/

I've discovered a couple of bugs today, but the most serious bug is that my savegames for today are gone. The ones from yesterday are still there though. Then i've also noticed that the game freezes (well for me anyhow), when i'm in port and opening the captains log.

After reloading a previously saved game, an already sunk aux cruiser was happily steaming again and another damaged BB, on fire and with heavy list, was suddenly in mint condition.

-> Please, can we put the miserable DRM/Savegame-somewhere-on-a-server issue in a trash can and burry it under a three feet thick concrete slab, Ubi?

Oh, btw, mouse y-axis invert anyone?

Cheers!
Chris

The proper way to exit the navigation map is to press the Escape key.

The recognition manual you talk about is the one seen in the Museum. If it really appears when pressing W when at the navigation map, then it's a bug, not an intended behavior.

Are you using an AZERTY keyboard? Are you French? We had to implement the AZERTY layout for the French localization of the game.

Port raid at Dover.

A sinking tanker's bow section passed through the seafloor and descended into the endless abyss.

Close combat against merchant gunfire at Scapa Flow. Hull integrity 100%

Back at Kiel, accidental crash into the sub pen. Hull integrity 97%.

Remember the ship's bobbing up and down like a cork, saw it in SH5.Got to love the whole new code, they should run for governor of IL and go on TV shows. Also ships running into shore and docks,Auto lock torpedoes don't work, got to be the buggiest one yet.Two more patches and we are on our own (SH3).We don't want to cost them to much money for fine piece of fun.

....

I've just sent 5 Liberties down to Davie Jones' Locker on my first patrol, 4 were in a small convoy and one single struggler the day before, all off Scotland in the entrance of Firth of Forth, nothing to mention...

...if it not had been in SEPTEMBER ´39

That UI drives me crazy also, after the first 24h of playing SH5, I've decided to stay away from the bridge, it's much to dangerous if you can't dive while you're dancing on the hatch

BTW is there any chance to return to course after using manual rudder control, without deleting all waypoints and rerouting the passage?!?

At least the graphics are...

Cheers,
Michael

For those that bought the collectors edition

Quote:
includes three famous non-playable historical U-Boats:
  • U-99 (type VIIB) – submarine of U-boat ace Otto Kretschmer
  • U-30 (type VIIA) – submarine of U-boat ace Fritz Lemp
  • U-552 (type VIIC) – submarine of U-boat ace Erich Topp
Those 3 subs have their own mis file
C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Campaigns\CampaignProjects\Common\__Collect orsEdition - CollectorsEdition .mis

Gives them movements from ports out to sea to follow preset patrol routes as did
Just a pity that it errors in Mission Ed which means it prolly wont work ingame also

I figured out why it's crashing, the whole new code doesn't know whether to be SH3,SH4,or SH5.Kinda feel like the skippers in WW2 telling the higher ups something is wrong w/torps but no one is listening..The five main bugs in the other SH's are back plus more new one's sssssssssshhhhhhhsssss...
