Default Q-Fan

I have an AMD 64 X2 4800+ with the OEM cooler installed. Its a bit noisy, but with q-fan on, its very quiet. I've making some tests, and the results are that with q-fan on it warms as much as with it off. Is there some kind of maximum heat disipation or fan effectivenes? Im leaving it on, but one of the first days i had this computer, i enabled q-fan but because the BIOS was outdated the fan totally stopped it was a nasty experience...

I have the Q-fan disabled, the box, cpu & HDD's just got too hot, I opted for a new case with better vents, fans & a good Zalman fan controller, now things run cool!!

The fan once stopped but that was because the BIOS was outdated and it didnt supoorted q-fan. Anyway, with cool'n'quiet and q-fan enabled the CPU hasn't gone highet than 60º (C)

yea, my bios are not updated, gotta press F1 everytime I start this computer up. I know my CPU isnt running at its full power. (and its a 64 bit processor running on 32 bit vista.)

The fan appears not to be running But the other 4fans in this case are keeping it cool. but it is so d** cold here I dont need it.

The optimum running temperature for all electronics is around 25ºC, my AMD runs close to 26º on idle up to 38º during game play. The big heat problem in mine is the HIS Ice-Q HD4850 video card, on idle around 40º & up to 55º during games, this is with the video fan at 100%, not happy but not much I can do about it.

That was during a sick Fritz 6 match with the computer playing against itself.
