I know a "Lily", she's a very good friend. She's in lockdown like me, but she's doing it tough. God knows when we'll see each other again.

In fact, I did post the video, Vienna. It's not really my fault then that because of copyright infringement, some videos just don't post. This is precisely why I named the song so the listener can go to youtube and pull it up themselves. |

I should've posted this on August 1 - "Horse's Birthday", but only just discovered this decent clip to a FINE animal. Alex loved his horse "Bucephalus" who went with him all the way to India where he died of old age and wounds. And Oliver Stone did him proud in "Alexander". "Titans" - Vangelis.

No offense intended; I just happened to think the "concept" video was a bit of fun to watch and, given the military bent of Subsim, it might interest a goodly portion of the members; the comment was meant to be lighthearted with no real knock meant on you... Earlier today, for some odd reason, songs by Quicksilver Messenger Service popped into my head; I haven't heard anything by them in years on the radio and its a pity they seem to have faded into the mists of popular memory; they were one of the founders of the San Francisco Psychedelic Sound of the 60s, up there with The Airplane; they boasted great vocals and musicianship, in particular John Cipollina, a really very seriously underrated guitarist; he had a sound that was unique when he came on the scene; he actually had two outputs on his guitar, one for the treble (bridge) pickup and one for the 'bass' (neck) pickup, with one feed going into tube amps and the other into solid state amps and speaker cabinets; sadly, he suffered from a life-long disorder and he finally succumbed to it at the relatively young age of 45 years... ...with Quicksilver, 1967... I last saw Cipollina play live when he rejoined QMS not long before his passing for a show at the Whisky-A-Go-Go on the Sunset Strip; he played the entire set seated in a wheelchair... <O>

^ Oh, It's all good, Vienna. It just frustrates me that there are pieces of music I want to share and for one reason or another, the video's that accompany the music or the music themselves won't post.
You know that I enjoy the history that you usually include with your musical selections, Vienna. That being said, keep them coming. This is just a fun song from Bad Company. Young blood. By the way, It was road tested to see if it would post. |
