Default HP battery and cable safety recalls

I don't know whether this has already been posted... I knew nothing about this until a warning popped up on my HP Support Assistant just now... which then promptly stopped working. Anyway, my notebook/laptop is on the list, so I now have to get a replacement battery!

Read also about the affected power cables

http://www8.hp.com/us/en/hp-information/recalls.html

And BE WARY of the piggyback sites offering to "check" your notebook computer for you online to see whether you're affected... my Kapersky security warns that they could be dodgy.

Again? I had an old AMD dual-core 17" laptop years ago that had a battery recall... only I don't think they caught fire, they just exploded...

I don't even know where I'm supposed to take it (I got this laptop from my father-in-law and he never keeps receipts or manuals for anything)

You daft bloody rodent you've got to get this fixed as soon as possible or you could end up with roasted nuts.

Pros and Cons.
You can try the HP Customer Support website for starters Mr Squirrel https://support.hp.com/gb-en/contact-hp, you should be able to find out if you've got any warranty or outstanding debts on the laptop as well.

If you've got any outstanding debts with HP break contact immediately, if they get back in touch you can always claim you've been pawned by the latest NutCracker virus, its very important that you don't laugh when you tell them that one.

Just act as thick as you are on Subsim Mr Squirrel and they'll find it all very believable, otherwise they'll cotton on to the fact that you've got more than a couple of slates loose.

from your good friend Moonlight
ps, you can send me a check for my services later.

Hey thanks for that... I expect he stole it anyway. I've taken the battery out, like they advise... I'm not keen on roasted nuts either.
