I want one of the IXD2 Uber Boats, that would be awesome. So when is the mod expected to be out.

Default HEHEHEH,, just imagine this !

rather than as usual, a deck gun to assist if the torps fail ,, how about this

a type IIa, stock everything but
with the fighting top of a flak trap but all are the big guns off a type IX,

A Mini Surcoff of sorts,,

leave everything as per game though, IS that even possible though??


Get in the convoy, battle surface, and gun em up!!, :p :p

and with her fast dive time,, gone before that tin can will get you.

Seriously,, I for sure will be interested to see what comes of this project,, It will for sure add a new levl of fun to the game!!.

Hmm maybe a small problem with the Fish mush i was in dunkirk causing my usual mayhem when i realised my poor we boat was taking a pounding from 5 armed tug boats there a pain in the arse.
So i went to PD to take em out first 3 went down with one fish each no problem got the next 2 lined up at roughly 2500 fired on the first one hit stop engines and the first fish went scooting of to its assigned target.
No problem then it decided to go for a wee wander it spent about 90 seconds going round it and under it and along side it then buggered off at a 90 degree angle to it to god knows where not hitting it the other Armed tug boat was a goog 2000 mtrs away from it so i locked/loaded and fired again and the next fish did the same again.
So at this point i was swearing quit loudly so of goes fish number 3 to do the same thing again but it finally hit anout 10 seconds from its end of run. So Tug boat number 5 i got lined up etc etc fired and well surprise it did the same thing as the other fish fired another 2 and they did they same again and theese little boats were making lots of noise and riping along at 12 ish knots.
I ended up surfacing and shredding it with my guns and at this point i'm down to 7% hull oh goody and i still have to get to my assigned patrol area and back home so 5 outa 6 fish preffered not to hit the target.
Oh and a few mins prior to this i had saved my game so i reloaded to see if it was just a dumb ass quirck and it did the same thing again so any ideas?

Hypothesis :

torp setting below keel depth tugs are short length and
tracking with 135 degree turn rate wouldnt let it get under


advise set depth 2 advise use impact setting

if possible advise shoot inside of 1000m straight run for torps.
(i think thats what you have I suppose I should check)

torp feedback is good

as pariahs we can do what we like but its about feel and functionality.

would a longer straight run be a better idea? I dont know but
shorter ones have there own difficulty.

I had considered a 1500 Metre straightrun as this seems to correspond
with an acoustical detectability range of sorts. also matches map screen
when your tracking torp progress.

I would think 1500 would be ok but there homing Torps they should do the work them selfs they just acted real weird and when i got up against shallow draft ships i always set my torps accordingly i wish i had fraps running then i could have videod it damm i always have theese clever ideas after the event

Hmm found another wee problem at the end of my patrols i can not for love nor money give my crew u boat war badges this is my second patrol and have been given a pile to dish out to the crew aprt from bernard and it wont let me do it any ideas mush?:hmm:

Deactivate mod go to
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Cfg

in your regular game
make a copy of that one and replace the one in the mod with it.

be advised that you will lose the elite officers of Ubercrew
back up the one in the mod someplace first.

activate mod again when done you have an ordinary IX crew beginning.

Actually at the moment I have privateer working on turning
RDP's type VII into a coffeemaker for the Control room in
Uber Odin. we just didnt want the good machinery to
go to waste.

In Retrospect this all actually works out right.

all beta's have been IXB based.

So what I think Ill do is just Hold IXD2
for Uber Releaseable (final or final beta)

making the b in IXB for beta.

I would like to ignore for now the type VII attempt
until after I get IXD2 up and tested etc.
(Sorry RDP & PG)

but a little focus on one at a time will help me if
no one else. I am attempting to try and clean
up my projects that are underway so I can
spend a little time learning new techniques.

Whats Different about UberOdin (IXD2) over UberThor (IXB) is that
it is such a large boat that You lose bridge details when you
shoot a screenie of the whole boat as you have to be so far away
to get it all in the picture.

Will you be adding the shark's teeth skin onto all Uber's? You know, that USS Redfin or P-40 Flying Tigers look.

Skinning isnt among my skills. Id like too but ill be gratefull
for any skin for that comes with a custom tower paint
for VIIC/4 conn to match the type IX Hull paint.
Id love sharks teeth for all ubers.

and Lightening for Uberodin, thors hammer for Uberthor
and Wings for UberValkyrie respectively on the conning
towers. along with simulated ships score flags painted
underneath.

Sadly no Skinner has taken a real interest in Uberboot.
