No this post has not been removed. The other post did not meet requirements. This one does.
The URL you referenced above is not the original post moved. IT is an edited rewrite which does not reflect the post that Steve moved. I thank you for your concern.

To: Bdu
From: U-565 Date: 05Oct41 2355hrs Position: Grid square AL3789 Weather: Clouds-Partial, Precip-None, Visib-Unlimited, Wind 0mps Status: 3 torpedoes, no ordinance expended, fuel 80% 1402hrs After receiving attack clearance from Bdu attempted to close range submerged to attack convoy. Due to heavy escort presence could only close to max range of steam torpedoes of which we had only two loaded in bow tubes. Targeted large tanker and medium freighter. Escorts alerted before torpedo runs ended forcing us deep. Did hear two detonations, but could not confirm sinkings. Depth charged for no damage, but convoy slipped out of range. 1658hrs After escorts moved off, surfaced and headed toward last known sound bearing of convoy. Reloaded torpedoes. Sighted burning freighter and attempted to close, but fired on by corvette before we were in range. Went to periscope depth and fired two electric torpedoes at closing corvette, but both missed and we went deep for more depth charges. Escort eventually gave up and left us behind. Surfaced and plotted end around maneuver to try and position to attack after dark. 2310hrs Sighted convoy. Despite clear night with full moon, determined to pursue surface attack. Now with four steam torpedoes forward closed convoy and fired all tubes. Two at large tanker, and one apiece at two smaller freighters. Was able to evade escorts on surface and witnessed both torpedoes hit tanker which exploded and broke in half. Assume other torpedoes missed. Now with only two short range electric torpedoes remaining forward am attempting another end around so as to attack submerged at close range. Claims- Large tanker 11,000 tons sunk Large tanker unknown, damaged Medium freighter unknown, damaged Krepper

Commander, Your latest KTB was received. If they do have radar in their aircraft it will not be long till it shows up on their capital ships. That will cause a lot of problems with our night surface attacks. Return to base to determin if there is any hull damage, If you make it home in time join us for the Flotilla movie of the week. Phantom Submarine U67 frequency clear.
