Thanks for the map! Running to work, but an idea of recent work on non-playable units....in preparation for WOTK's second video (I hope) which will deal with a great but little-known disaster at sea......A death toll like Titanic, that occurred on Great Britain's doorstep and left thousands of families without husbands/fathers/sons, but has been forgotten over the years.

You may have seen earlier versions of this model - my first prototype was not well proportioned; far from perfect but IMO this is an improvement. More news later.

Yes! The coaster and destroyer are both looking nice - especially the coaster; I bought a book on British small merchants and the proportions, structural features, etc are very well done - just like a typical 1900's - 1910's cargo ship. And thank you for the "Charner!" another ship sunk by a U-Boat that is very difficult to model.

None other, Admiral!!

I have a copy of the book "Three Before Breakfast", which was written back in the 1970's, with the help of Aboukir + Cressy + Hogue veterans who were still alive at the time - I highly recommend it to anyone interested in submarine warfare.

Leadtail's Charlemagne rendered in Wings3d. Last night I started planing a texture for his cruiser, "Amiral Charner":

"Twelve thousand tons of old iron going to rust."

-A British officer on the "Cressy" class. They were obsolete by
1914, but still impressive ships. Here is the model successfully
imported....it is a "mannequin", towed by the U-31 sub hull
object. Will be working on the various steps needed to make it
(and leadtail's ships) functional units; it's all very basic.

I don't think that destroyers will have nets - I tried them and couldn't get them to work.

However, they will have Explosive Sweeps and Depth Bombs:

Antisubmarine equipment for destroyers will progress like this:

1914 - Guns, Torpedoes, & Explosive Sweeps only

1915 - Depth Bombs and primitive Depth Charges appear

1916 - Good Depth Charges are constructed but are very rare

1917-1918 - Depth Charges become common, with some escorts having dozens. The war becomes deadly for the U-Boats.

Knew it! The day the world truly learned how dangerous subs could be and one of the great feats of sub history to this day even.
