However, when one then goes to C:/Download and looks for the LSH3 2022.exe it is not there. Now once it was there, but it was password protected in a 7zip format...I never password protect 7zip stuff - and I could not open it.

Appreciate the reply, but we are getting nowhere fast.

(And I don't see any reply of real assistance from any senior LSH3 people for the Newbie that had a download problem next to my request for help - besides my minimal attempt at a response. Which goes to my comments concerning the state of affairs at LSH3,)

Ahhh. I thought you were encountering a Windows Defender dialog. Sorry about that... Mine usually tells me there is a potential risk, and does not delete files like that. FUBAR295's suggestion might be a solution, though it is the same file being downloaded. It is a zip file, so I do not understand why it is being deleted, unless your AV is looking inside the archive and seeing the exe file in there?? Do you know how to find the "quarantine" folder for your AV scanner app? You might be able to retrieve it there. btw - the LSH fellows lost Urmel, the former team leader/manager who died unexpectedly a while back, just before 2022 version was going to be released. The rest of the team finished the mod, and its title "The Eternal Patrol" is telling. There are several that will still drop by here, such as blueduck and blackswan40, and those are the best two to PM, especially blackswan40. Just give them a few days to reply.

Yes, I recall Urmel's death and was at that time worried that the driving force was gone. I was then already using LSH3.

"Do you know how to find the "quarantine" folder for your AV scanner app?"
answer = Nope, and am not certain what an "AV scanner app" is.

I did look at the Defender app (a good suggestion) but saw nothing there that would block LSH3.exe from successfully downloading.

I do have Norton...maybe that is a problem? Well, Norton is always a problem, but I mean this problem. May have to open Norton account and see what is there, but that acct protocols have not been changed in the last several years, and the current problem is only months old. Cannot believe that is the difficulty.

Finally - why is a downloaded Zip file (whether WinZip or 7Zip) password protected when I have not specified that protection? Again, not maybe a question that can be answered here, but that actually is the current blockage from my using the single LSH3.exe file that did successfully download, that prevents C://Downloads/LSH3 2022.exe from opening.

My friend, you are spending a great deal of time here on my difficulties. I do appreciate it, but you also have a real life. Take a break. I will still be here trying to get things to work.

If the file was corrupted during download, or restricted by Norton, then that could do your "password protected" issue. Did you try FUBAR295's download link above?

Thank you for this update. This was super simple on my end.

Download occurred with no issues. I read and followed your rather impressive README doc. The installation went without a hitch. I really appreciated the instructional prompt during installation regarding file location and multiple installations.

Looking forward to prowling the depths this weekend in search of tasty, tasty tonnage...

PropB:
Yep, did download his version. Got the same result...that is, nothing in the C:/Download folder with the same warning message.

Am about to give up on the whole LSH3 experience, frankly and wait for Lehman to come up with their latest and return to his corner of the sub-simulator world. Yes, I am that discouraged and frustrated.

Appreciate your input, but I see no future with LSH3.

Default long-running problems

All:
Well, I have now been able to load and run LSH3 2022. After downloading multiple versions from Fubar , most of which failed to actually survive onto my C:/Download...no criticism of Fubar...I finally got one to load and open. And I did get all the preexisting sub commanders to survive Commander's search. (Have saved over 45 patrols/missions.)

But one problem - Now all the Attack scopes raise and lower, switch from 4.5 to 10 magnification, but will not move Right to Left - i.e. no lateral movement at all. I must use the Observation scope.

Any advice why this is true? And it persists for all (repeat, all) sub commander patrols, and for all sub types.

Ok, my frustration has been very high. But I am back...sorta.

For all those who download LSH3 from our Website:
WHY DO YOU EXTRACT A EXE WITH A ZIP-PROGRAM???

Of course is there a password-protection but this is not necessary if you just run the downloaded file!!!

@Archive1:
Why do you download files to C:\Download - I am pretty sure a lot of virusscanners will block files which are not downloaded very often.

Go to our website (click my signature) and then open, read and follow the given PDF with installation instructions. Then download the LSH3-2022 by rightclicking the DL-Link and "save as" or "save to" to a new folder within your own documents folder. Start the downloaded EXE and follow the installation instructions given during the process.

Concerning your last problem report please post your actual MOD-List.

Regards

Hola Katalo
por favor, haz clic en el enlace de mi firma.
En la página de descargas también encontrarás versiones anteriores de LSH3 en la parte superior derecha.
Necesitas LSH3-2020.

Saludos cordiales

Hi Archive1,

if these are the only MODs activated I can not see any reason why it schould not work. Tried this list on my machine.

Blueduck:
I don't either, but the problem persists with all sub versions and all sub commanders. And through all Patrols. The Observation scope works well and properly, so things can continue. I do start each patrol via Commander and have not tried opening one directly through LSH3. May try that and see if somehow Commander is the problem...although, again, I don't know why or how that would be true.

May see if anyone comes out of the woodwork with a suggestion.
Thanks,

Default Same problem as Rhodes

... sort of. What I experience, both with LSH-2022, and with OneAlex, is that when launching the game through SH3Commander, my resolution defaults to 1024x768 when my screen is 1920x1080. In addition, the game loads in a window, and I cannot access any of the menu items, meaning I have to Alt-F4 and reinstall the original.
This is specific to SH3Commander (game runs perfectly fine if I do not use SH3Com), and also permanently changes the graphics on startup - hence the need to reinstall from scratch.
I do not understand why this happens as I change nothing in the whole process; looks like SH3Com installs a lower resolution mod of some kind.
Running Win11, and compatibility Win7 plus admin is set.
