All arrived yesterday, all put together this evening and then I'll dig out my os disk tomorrow and finish it off.

Only a couple of niggles, one is the cooler says 'use the provided y-splitter to power the fans' but they just plain ol' don't fit. I'll research that tomorrow at work to see if it is just me.

The other niggle was a noisy fan. Rechecked all the cabling was clear, turned out to be a wire in the GPU catching.

All good till now.

So the y-splitter is a non-issue, and Google is my friend. The connections are capped, I just need to pull them off. It's caught a lot of people out, maybe Corsair should mention this.

Finally dug out my Win 7 DVD last night and installed that (no drive in this so thanks ISO 2 USB, great tool) in 10 minutes. Then set to work adding all the little drivers for the mobo, GPU, added AV, and spent far too long playing with Corsair Link.

Finally installed Steam, and just downloading DCS World and I'll see how that goes tonight.

Next up - setting the user profiles to aim for one of the HDDs rather than SSD, and payday will be GTAV day.

All's well so far.

Hang on, pay day is the 28th, but that's a Sunday so it'll be Friday 26th.

By which time the Steam sale for GTAV will probably be finished.

Hopefully this solves my problem running SH3 as I coughed for a new processor and motherboard.

AMD Black FX3.9 6 core processor [can be over clock to 4.2] and MSI DT AMD 970 chipset motherboard.

For far less money than what the same would be from Intel. And bought from all places... Best Buy.

If you haven't thought of it, get Seagate HDDs. They have a software program called Seagate DiscWizardSetup-1605861.en that you can use to clone your active HDD. If you change out your motherboard as I'm doing, you can pop in the clone and it will run without reinstalling your operating system and starting from scratch all over again. I'll be doing it with a new 2T SATA Seagate HDD.
