Default SH2 underwater

Hi,
I'm a noob here and love all the silent hunter related stuff. I don't have a good enough pc to play sh3 or 4 so i loaded a copy of sh2.

The problem is when i'm in external underwater view. The blue surrounding sea area is missing. All i get is the suface which goes into infinity and the bottom which is a yellow sand colour. BTW, i can see the bottom even when in deep waters.

This has not happened before as i remember so i can't figure out what to do. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling,got the patch. Tried on and off bit mapping etc but it still remains.

Any help appreciated.

What graphic configuration are you running it in? You can set these under the configuration menu before you start a game. Is table or range fog set to off? Is the level of detail set to low?

Have you patched it with Patch 1.1?

Hi,

yes, it patched. I was wondering if theres some kind of log file i can show you thats part of the game. Maybe that will help but i don't know about these things much.

It's weird because i've had it working before but this was a couple of yrs ago. I thought it was strange also that it only effects the underwater scene. the outside external view is ok.

Hmmm. That is odd. Maybe someone wiser than me in the game's idiosyncrasies will show up to explain it. At least you can still play it. Lately, I've found I can't play SH2 at all anymore because the nights are pitch black on my LCD monitor. They were just fine on my CRT. No fun being a U-Boat commander only in the day.
