Default Having trouble getting SCXIIc to work. Need some advice.

Hey Bill.

I downloaded SCXIIc from your site. Installed it. The exectutable installer is awesome! Wow!

Now... how do I get it to work? What steps do I need to take to pick a sub and use it?

Follow carefully the install instructions. Once finished, you should have a new executable in the main SC folder. Starting it you will see a list of playable subs. You can choose any of those, and the "fourth" playable sub in the game will be that one. Note that you must exit the game and run the executable again to change to another playable sub. The "fourth" playable submarine is a sort of blank slot that is used by the one you havce chosen at each moment. Once you selected the sub, all custom mission created for that type of sub will be playable, and highlighting them in the menu will show the proper picture of the playable sub.

Oh, and ... be a bit more patient man! :p

Any way to crack the campaign missions to edit subs so that I can use SCXIIc custom subs in the stock missions?

IIRC you can open the missions with any text editor (Even Windows Notepad) and manually replace the Controllable sub with the proper entry for the SCXII enabled one :hmm:

Excellent!! Thank you!

One more thing and then I'll stop bugging people....

What do I write in place of the stock sub to allow me to choose the modded scxIIc sub?

It's not quite as simple as that. You can use the scenario editor to replace the stock sub with your chosen platform - you will have to do it for each mission in the campaign.

Once you have done that it is worth checking the various objectives in the editor, as they are sometimes platform-specific. If so you may have to change the sub ID in each objective.
