How so? Intel only rolled out the first 32nm CPU at the start of this year.

Goes in cycles I guess. When I last bought a CPU in the end of 2006 AMD was completely **** and Intel's Core 2 Duos ruled the market. Now pretty much all the reviews seem to promote AMD.

edit: Come to think of it I've never had an AMD even though I've sworn "next time I'll get one". Every time I've been on the market for a new CPU or a new laptop Intel has provided the best bang for the buck.

That has always been AMD's strong point; price/ performance ratio. Nothing wrong with them.

My intel laptop, hands down, out performs my amd desktop. I haven't turned on my desktop (meaning used) in about a year.

It sounds like they are having manufacturing issues, so I'm curious what the big problem is? It's just freakin' amazing how much stuff they can put on such a small chip

. The atom chip (intel) is roughly half the size of your fingernail

Same here, without the competition we would be in the same boat like Windows with no competitor,

I love my AMD ive got my 955 quad core running all the way from 3.2 up to 3.65 with barely touching the voltage. I LOVE it!

There is ALOT going into Globalfoundries 32nm process. The reason they are delaying and tweaking is because it is EXTREMELY difficult to "Fix" things during production. TSMC 40nm became a nightmare because of this effect. It is far better to fix things before mass production and focus on new improvements along the life than try to fix things throughout the lifecycle.

Their 32nm process has to compete with Intels 22nm CPUs coming out in late 2011 to early 2012.

I have built both Intel and AMD based systems, I go to which ever has the best offering at the time.
