Default Giving RSRD a break, want to put the ships in TMO though...

Giving RSRD a break for a while, just going to run TMO alone with some modifications.I would like to have many of the extra ships from RSRD though.Ill assume removing them from the appropriate RSRD version and inserting into TMO would be okay? providing move files to the roster and sea directory and of course list them in the names.cfg. Anything I am missing?

That sounds like it to me, but someone else may point out where I'm wrong. I think that's all you need to do, though.

If I'm not mistaken TMO ship traffic is very similar to RSRD. I know the traffic was worked on by Ducimus.

Yes but TMO lacks a lot of the ships RSRD does, want to put them so they will show up in the game.

I think the ships needs scripting, or only you will see they in the Museum, and not in campaign.

I´m in the same work: adding ships from RSRDC and FOTRS 1.3 in TMO 22. I read the threads in the SH4 Mission Design section, there are some posts very interesting about this question.

Also I added (not in campaign) some pretty ships from SH3: I have the VonDos Titanic in the San Francisco bay. But I scripted the ship in the traffic of SF.

Best regards.

Actually no scripting required for TMO only.

See screenshot

This is from the 42a Convoy layer for TMO.
You'll see that generic entries have been used.
Generic entries have also been used in the troop convoy layers I have checked, and in the single merchant layers I have checked.

All you'll need to do is add the ships to the Japanese roster and they will show up in game.

I've added a load of ships from FOTRS into my game.

All I needed to do was add the ship folders (into the Sea folder), and add the ship cfg's into the Japanese roster folder and the ship entries into the names cfg.
I haven't edited the campaign files at all, and I see the new ships all the time in my campaign.

EDIT: Just to clarify.

The above is true if you are running TMO only, as Bubblehead stated in his original question.
If you are running TMO plus RSRD then the campaign files will need to be edited, as specific entries have been used in RSRD for convoy group contents.
