Can somebody help me find out what this is?

I just got this patch-thing from my Grandma. It's obviously Naval-Oriented because of the Anchor.

It's definitely from a Commonwealth Navy, judging from the crown in the centre.

I was thinking Australia.

I also got an Aussie Flag from my Grandma along with a New Guinea Flag...

Royal Navy officer's cap badge.

EDIT: Actually, I'm a lying bastard. Looks more like the Victorian Royal Navy Badge.

It's possible that it's RN... My Grandma doesn't know exactly where it came from.

It's definatley an officers cap badge, but unfortunatly both the Royal Australian Navy and the Royal Navy use the same badge, so it'd be pretty difficult to work out where it's from.

The flags may offer a clue though.

Given your relative sizes, that might not be a good thing.

Given that he's already posted pictures of his whole foot, I'd say you're a bit behind the curve.

I'm pretty sure its a Royal Navy Warrant Officers badge, I found 1 that looks just like it on another website http://www.rbjmilitaria.com/index.php?f=data_home&a=2 the feathers a little more separated in the 1 i found but everything else is the same

Since there are fewer feathers on the one you found....I'm assuming that this one I have is a regular officer's insignia.

Makes sense right?

Or.. a Royal Australian Navy commisioned Officers cap badge.

I was in the RAN reserve cadets (T.S. Marmion) in my younger days and I recognised your picture imediately Red. I did a quick google image search to confirm it and was supprised to see it on RN caps as well. I geuss we still share some heritage.

Have a look for your selves:

Nope, the RN WO's badge is two bay laurel branches either side, that's a commisioned officer's badge.

Below is a picture containing both, WO on the left, officer on the right. But which Navy is still a question that will likely never to be answered as the commonwealth navies used the same or similar.
