One question...this mod that you reference "3)SH5.exe patch (hydro) v0.0.1 and v0.0.2", is this just the official game patch or the hydro fix that TDW came up with?
It is the hydro fix that TDW came up with

Ok thanks. I guess I need to d/l a hex editor.

Another question I have... How is the sonarman getting a range when you ask him to "estimate range to target"? Wasn't that impossible in real life? I know they can guess if its long range, medium range or close range but to get an accurate range reading wouldn't you need active (pinging) sonar?

Just trying to understand all the forces at work here. Thanks.

the fix that tdw made read from an cfg file the speed that the sonar guy report for you.. in sh5 the ping sonar it is not working... i know in real life they used the ping for estimate the distance and they used the rev engine chart to estimate the speed by hidro but this is not working also in sh5... so about me the sh5.exe patch is an compromise to simulate the sonar ping for range... the diference is that now the navigator estimation for range is to precise ... you can use or not.. it is up to you... i use this when i hunt in heavy fog days

Thanks for the reply. I'll probably still use it. Just wanted to understand.

By the way...you wouldn't happen to be Romanian would you? The accent in your videos sounds familiar to me. (I'm not Romanian but spent some time there years ago.)

you can not... many of them are rewoked and few of them are only personal mods (mods from other people combined with other mods and made some changes and so on... only tdw mods are in the original version... most parts of others are reworked)

EDIT: Yes.. if you like the env and interface that you saw in my game i suggest you to use MO

Us mere mortals would end with CTD on this mod list.

But stoianm is the mod master wizard of SH5

Default Auto TDC with Real navigation and ''no map contact''

Hi,

i just made a new video tutorial

stoianm Auto TDC with Real navigation and ''no map contact'' tutorial for SH5

1)How to use Auto TDC to have an fast and acurate result
2)This tutorial is for the players that not like ploting , drawing and calculation and they want to have acurate results when hunt ships in SH5
3)The hard core players will find this one as an methode to cheat - so do not watch it if you are an hard core SH5 gammer (is not at all immersive this methode)

To play in this manner you need to have installed this 2 mods:

1)NewUIs_TDC_6_4_0_ByTheDarkWraith
2)NewUIs_TDC_6_4_0_Real_Navigation

see post #1 for details

Default Convoy hunt using Real navigation and Realism 100% for SH5

Hi,

I just made a new video tutorial:

stoianm Convoy hunt using Real navigation and Realism 100% for SH5

1)How to use attack periscope to find course, AOB, range etc from a convoy with real navigation and realism 100%
2)How to choose the best position before making the final attack on a convoy using Real navigation
3)How to add all the data in the TDC and how and when to fire your torpedoes using the fast 90 degrees methode
4)How to hit ships in the same column of an convoy in the same time

To play in this manner you need to have installed this 3 mods:

1)NewUIs_TDC_6_4_0_ByTheDarkWraith
2)NewUIs_TDC_6_4_0_Real_Navigation

See post #1 for details

EDIT: I just figured out why my 4th torpedo did not hit the target... i made an mistake when i wanted to put my heading at 90 degrees (my calculation was for around 45 degree heading but i used 41 by misteake... so i was not at 90 degree exactly on the covoy course)
