It's sorely tempting me ... :hmm:

The Type II has always been one of my favorite boats. My calcs say the model should be just over 22-inches long, so I've got room on my shelf. Question is, how do I get it delivered without my wife knowing?

(She's always on my case to finish my current modeling projects, before buying anything new )

Default Bill- here's a thought- the box will resemble very much what would arrive if you had

a dozen long stem roses delivered to her- buy the roses -keep them on the side- have the sub box arrive and do a quick bait and switch!!! tricky but could work!!

...and thats just the kit. Soon the aftermarket goods will arrive, soaring the costs considerably. I still like it a lot.
Id like to see someone put one together before i buy it though.

I just heard of this kits aproaching release, when I was at my hobby shop getting the Alanger (Russian manufacturer), Type XXIII boat...In 1/72. So now after I get this one, and the very hopefull type XXI, I shall have A fleet of 1/72 scale boats.

I currently have a Gato, Type VIIC, Type XXIII, all in 1/72.

OOOo, I forgot...A 1/72 S-Boat (preferbly the S-42 class). Then my fleet would be complete.

I'd love to have a 1/72 sugarboat, also. Someone (Combat Models, see below) once sold a vacuform kit, but it's long since out of production.

You guys should have bought it when it was $99 - now it's $105!

Plus another $240 if you want all the crew.

Still...:hmm:

I have found the thread on the type II build:
http://www.modellboard.net/index.php?topic=24301.0

Enjoy.
I wonder when we will see someone build one here.
