Air Dropped Torpedoes

Hello all!

I'm back to SC after a long, long time. And thanks to many of you and Timmy G00 TacMan tips, now I'm for the first time really enjoying this game. Now I'm able to get contacts up to 50,000 yard away! That's great!

But there is something that is bothering me: air dropped torpedoes. Those are nasty! Even more if they are dropped by Il-38s, which have this annoying tendency to pick me up on the first pass. Even more when I just launched some Tomahawks.

My question is: is there any way to detect them on the sonar? Is there any way to avoid them? I ask this because I would like to have a way to know where they are, where they are looking for me, so I would know the best course to avoid them.

Owww...I forgot to say...

I'm trying to detect the Il-38s, Bears, helix ,etc...with the sonar, not the torpedoes.
Those are easily detectable!

I'm playing (better, simming) with the stock SC with 1.08 patch.

Switch to DW ... there you can shoot the buggers out of the Sky with your SAM. Aside from that I dont know if planes are detectable on sonar in SC ... I do know that this works in DW tho (if the plane doesnt exceed a certain altitude and distance from you).
