If you guys want to talk strategy games, try a new game called Theater of War. I played it and it far surpasses Blitzkreig. It has campaigns for the Allies(US,UK) The Soviet Union, Germany, and even France and Poland!! I played the French one and even though the French had WW1 leftovers I beat the Germans!! And in some cases your troops will even get scared and try to run away. Blitkreig doesn't even come close. Here is a link to the site I got it from http://www.direct2drive.com/.

Used to play DF too back in the day. Still think the first one was the best, great for multiplayer sniper duels.

Yup, videos of executions between the missions, mission objectives telling you to kill the wounded germans one by one, limbs blowing off, swearing, bodies charred when burned etc. etc.

Definitely one of the goriest WW2 shooters.

Well I hope that this doesn't give you all the wrong message but it's about time!

COD5 is the most goriest WW2 themed FPS game that I have ever seen! But in the way of weaponry it is one of the most realistic games out there, the one that in my opinion that was tops in weapon realism was Hidden & Dangerous 2. There is one cool thing about COD5 and that is the zombie mode in co-op, it is so fun and sometimes downright scarry too .

Yes it is a good game to play, somewhat fast paced but I think its shorter than COD2. As the Americans you do miss out on some of the most famous battles in the PTO such as Midway, Guadalcanal, The Battle of the Philippines, but one that really disapponted me was the fact that you don't get to fight during the Battle for Iwo Jima!!! But you do get to fight in the last major battle of World War Two the Battle of Okinawa and the Battle of Berlin.

Didn't like CoD5 that much (At least the campaign design is rather crummy), but yeah, it is rather gory

EDIT: Completely agree with Kptlt, actually, felt rather bad to see Operation Watchtower, New Guinea, Moscow and all those other important battles zip away in a cutscene

Most of the US missions feel rather stupid (Walk in trench, kill a thousand Japs, advance to next cave), the Russian levels (Especially the last ones) are much better
