Screensaver or turning off monitor?
For inactivity periods of about 10 minutes, what's better for a LCD monitor, using a screensaver or turning it off? And for 30 minutes and longer?

LCD monitors are different than CRT and Plasma monitors
Turning it off the the better choice Screen savers are quite useless for LCDs |

I have my monitor dim after 2 minutes, and then turn off after 5 minutes. Some point between the two my screen saver kicks in.
The default HP settings which never dimmed the screen or turned off the monitor. A pixel ended up burning out because of this.

A lot of people don't realize this but you can still burn an LCD screen as much as a CRT screen, and turning any monitor on/off all the time is bad also, I use a good screen saver and if I'm likely to be away from the computer for awhile I will either turn it off or turn the whole computer off to save power!
