Default Make turbines independent of a reactor?

I noticed that in the objects.ini that turbines have a parent reactor, meaning that if you shutdown the second reactor, then turbine #2 won't be powered, regardless of available power.

I tried setting the parent reactor to 0 and removing the line and a few other things, but nothing I tried did it for me.

Hi Tuzz,

At the moment, turbines can't be made completely independent of reactors.

Basically you can attach multiple turbines to one reactor, but can't attach one turbine to multiple reactors with the current system.

Hope this helps to clarify how it works. What were you trying to create? Some kind of backup reactor? The system could be changed to allow that in the future.

Yes, it would be a backup reactor. I wanted a sub to run on one reactor to be less noisy, but still have a second reactor that is usually shut down, and can be powered up in case something happens to the primary reactor.
