Mare Nostrum should be the 23rd flotilla.
If you are in the 23rd flotilla your game is still ok as the type B is a fail safe boat for this.

So try a save just before you finish happy times

If you are still stuck in 2nd flotilla when you then pick MareNostrum again - try picking WesternApproaches (6th flotilla)

User player unit says I have a VIIC, but career track says VIIB. My flotilla looks right for La Spezia. I see that the Unit Interval is different than yours. I have installed and uninstalled TheBeasts Equipment Upgrade 1.4. Could that have messed up my submarine promotions?

Unfortunately, I don't have any old saves from Happy Times. I usually only keep around two saves. In the bunker, and out on patrol. I just used Silent Otto to skip ahead to Black Pit. I can report that I have a VIIC in Black Pit

Arctic convoys

Into Arctic convoys campaigns at a choice of mission of Soviet waters I am constantly loaded in port where there is nothing. There are neither ships, nor houses, and by pressing keys M (map) a departure. Help me, what i must do. I already 10 times loaded and everything is identical!

This is good that you are in the correct flotilla and it looks like you save game will be ok.
I am not sure how the new boats are triggered and in OHII are only controlled by the flotilla and roster.

This " UnitInterval=1940-07-30 00:00:00, 1945-12-31 00:00:00" is odd
Somthing must have over written your roster cfg.

Go here - C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Roster\German\Submarine\SSTypeVIIC.cfg

it should be -

Have you tried the more mem switch

Yes, I have 32bit OS Win7 and 2 GB RAM.
Before it sufficed. But it was sometimes loaded too not completely, there were no port outlines, only the ships.
These problems arose because of shortage of memory?

Does turning off aero make a diffrence when playing a pc game ? It says that under windows 7 aero is stored on the graphics card .

Since the game parameters limit the degree of change. Is it possible to replace objectives. For instance, in the Weserubung campaign. Is it possible to change the objective from "sink a british ship trying to enter norwegian coastal waters" with sink x tons of british shipping.

If that's the case then I would recommend using only sink x tonnage objectives since they are the closest to realiity. When was a U-boat assigned to sink a specific type of ship??? Okay tankers off the U.S. coast. But still what if a u boat didn't find any tankers but sunk a few merchant ships? Would that be considered a faliure?? Hell no!! You're alive, refit and go on patrol again. The whole purpose of patrols was to mount tonnage.

So perhaps you could just elaborate the story a bit. Like ruby's deutschmod. It doesn't just translate the mission description it adds one of its own. AND you get Wehrmacht reports on the radio. Very cool.

So you could just say bla bla bla. focus on british merchants, tankers are always a good prize bla bla. Then the player decides what to do.

This is where our immagination kicks in. It's a shame you can't fiddle with the objectives more. Because then we could just have patrol areas. Be assigned new ones via radio. 4000 t merchants would ammount to c medal points, tankers would ammount to 1.5 x medal points and so on.

Also. Have you considered implementing the kriegsmarine grid map into OH 2 v 2??

I think you are not understanding me here.
I can state the objectives as anything I want - but the awards must be based on either - sink ship, sink tonnage or escort ship.

So the brief and objective can say anything.

Can you post a screen shot of this - I am sure it is the same as OHII but translated into German

Yes - and started doing it with wolfpack missions, but the modded KM grid does not go into small enough grids.



I think I may be added more confusion to this whole objective debate
It sounds like you guys are asking for things that I have already done

You can install it - yes
Best to save in the bunker - exit game - install OHII - load bunker save.

You may see the odd glitch with objectives in that campaign, but when you progress to the next one - OHII will be fully installed and working
