umm
just read that indeed a bird has been spotted in the UK that belongs to the general family of those birds, if not the species in the picture (and i'd like to have the exact species). I am not sure, there may have been some of this family of birds before in the UK, that have now died out or migrated - really not sure. edit: would still say the UK is not the typical region for those birds.

Some of the family yes (i read there are two species of this family in North America), but not this special species.
I usually expect those birds in warmer climates, was astonished the regions they obviously also populate. Hint 1: The one we look for can be quite big Hint 2: Not your typical "bird of prey"

^NAH! Kai a good Kraut and therefore loves Umlauts I'll go with Rüppells Griffon vulture...the world highest flying bird (Gyps rueppelli), < the 'headlights' on the shoulders are similar too:

As far as i know it is not Gyps rueppellii, though the photo would fit - but the name is another, also the latin one
I'd say the bird on your photo is not a rueppelii
