Basically yes but not too different to her originally intended role. She was eventually put in the reserve fleet before being sent for broken up for scrap.

HMS Pioneer or HMS Perseus?...both Colossus class; originally designated dept/service ships converted to light carriers...but not able to land aircraft, only launch. Planes had to be craned aboard... the only other 3rd depot/service carrier, HMS Unicorn was built as designated and could launch aircraft
