Conducted experiments in single ship engagements. This one was the mutually destructive duel between DKM Kormoran vs. HMAS Sydney.

Experiment was run 3 times. Kormoran modeled by the Living Silent Hunter 3 commerce raider, mounted with 15cm guns from Rowi58's DKM Emden. Sydney modeled by The Frog's Perth class cruiser. As per the actual engagement, the Sydney was positioned off of the Kormoran's starboard ~1300 meters away.

Result: 2 out of 3 times, the Kormoran sank the Sydney without suffering fatal damage. The old German 15cm guns turned slightly faster than Sydney's double 6 inch mounts and so were able to fire first.

On the first trial, it took two hits (one below each "A" and "B" turrets) to sink the cruiser. The Sydney suffered a catastrophic explosion shortly thereafter. Only four 4 inch rounds fired; all missed.

On the second trial, a 4 inch round disabled Kormoran's aft casemated 15cm. The raider thus damaged, she was unable to inflict as much damage to Sydney as before. Both got off one more salvo on each other and suffered catastrophic explosions before sinking.

On the third trial, one 4 inch shell hit the Kormoran above the waterline. 6 inch salvo from Sydney missed. Cruiser sunk after 3 shots below the waterline, 2 on turrets.

Outcome of the first duel:

Also, the Kormoran is not at all immune to torpedoes. Quite the opposite.
