The "author", someone who is not a doctor, has no proper education in this field and holds no degrees in medicine grabs a few theories here and there, and writes an opinion piece that suits his political views.

He bases on a srudy in a respected science paper. Its pretty difficult stuff and I capitulated, but understood enough to believe he summarizes it correctly. Also my own argument, that Biontech fails to comply with court orders to release critical data, and then the unusually far reaching exclusion clauses in the treaties that the producer cannot be held responsible for any later negative effects. That is in all such treaties for drug and vaccine supplies, but here it reaches unusually far. That Lauterbach tries to prevent an evaluation study that weighs risk versus achieved gains, and all this being weighed again versus the cataclysmic economic costs, does not make it better.

I share your view on AdG, btw, in so far as that everythign there is to be taken not unquestioned. Its a mixed bag. Some of their authors are dubious in my view, so are some of their articles. Others are very good and solid. Gunnar Heihnsohn also writes there occasionally, and that are A-grade arguments. Or Tamara Wernli's occasional links to her video blogs - I extremely like her: witty spirit and plain reason (her good looks and sexy accent are a free bonus). Find her channel at youtube.

The Covid pandemic has caused the deaths of nearly 15 million people around the world, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates.

That is 13% more deaths than normally expected over two years.

The WHO believes many countries undercounted the numbers who died from Covid - only 5.4 million were reported.

In India, there were 4.7 million Covid deaths, it says - 10 times the official figures - and almost a third of Covid deaths globally.

The Indian government has questioned the estimate, saying it has "concerns" about the methodology, but other studies have come to similar conclusions about the scale of deaths in the country.

Personally I am quite convinced that the real numbers are higher, significantly, due to methodolgoy favourign conservative results and the WHO having a tendency to underreport/underestimate such numbers.

Africa maybe being the exception - where they have stopped plans to build their own vaccine factories because compared to the expectations the pandemic "did not really happen" there: like India with its high sunlight rate but culture of trying to avoid sun at high temperature times, in Africa many people spend more hours in sunlight, producing intracellular Melatonin in mitochondrias and Vitamine D in the skin from Infrared and UV light. Nutrition habits also likely play a role, especially intake of inflammatory factors that contradict the immune system. India sees a pandemic of obesity, like industrial countries, it just started with a delay, for obvious reason, carbohydrates and especially certain plant seed oils probably play a role here. In Africa you more have a pandemic of "threatening slimness", to put it this way. Obesity is more an issue in Central Latin America, India, increasingly China (children) , than in Africa.
