Bit overdone (not blaming you) imo, not even a burning plane looks like that on water-impact.

Yeah, its the same explosion which they use for ships, it starts off as a small fire ball then.... well you see.

Looks more like a scud missile being shot down.

Whats really sad is that I just spent over an hour getting screenies of a really cool night attack under the moonlight and all. I then exited the game only to see that I had forgotten to startup fraps....

Same here:

Ran into 40 unescorted, unarmed merchants moving at 5kts. My opening attack was hitting the first 4 ranks at the same time. Then I just sat there as I reloaded, hitting the next 8 ships that sailed past. Then i chased after them with the deck gun. Final count was 14 sunk!

Sure, can! I've included 4 versions. Two are the untouched (darker) original, one with the Silent Hunter logo and one without and the other two are the auto-toned (and slightly cleaned up) Photoshop'd version I posted here. Again, one logo'd and the other not. All are 1920x1200.

Yes the translucence of the water from above is one of my favorite aspects of SH5 too.

unfortunte british sub i found sneakin around i was hunting it for about an hour try the deck gun first but it dived and stayed down for a while so stoped the motor and waited and it came back up and i hit it with a torp
