Well there were some good Pilots in the Luftwaffe, but Hermann G. wasn't one of them.

Goering was hardly a pilot at all by the time WW2 came around, being too old, too fat, and too addicted. But in WW1 he scored 22 aerial victories, hardly near the top of the list but certainly no slouch.

Well the best one was "Major" Erich Hartmann. He claimed 352 aerial victories and is the highest-scoring fighter ace in the history of aerial warfare. Goering was just talking, i bet they didn't had a fitting plane for him so he had to quit.

Yes, I'm aware of Hartmann and his record. There were more than 100 German aces during the war with 100 kills or more. My point was that in his prime Goering was a fine pilot, and a good squadron leader.

Hm i never would have said Goering was a good Pilot (along with Pilots like Hartmann, Richtohfen ,Graf and many other). But he surely was one of the most worsest people in the third reich.

It's probably just the lighting or a strange reflection off the angle.

Successful convoy attack. Burning ships from left to right: large merchant, medium collier, Southampton class cruiser.

I'd be interested to hear the answer to that as well.

Here's a couple more shots of the Nelson for comparison purposes. The lighting's different but it's the same skin.
And one at distance: She's under a bit of duress, but then that's how I like my enemy warships...
