I'm glad to hear that you're not going to drop the server, myself and Nagy were a little concerned that you might do so given the massive drop in players logging on.

I'd ask that you keep the current map for a little longer, so that Nagy can finish the H2O arena. mkeab1812 should be back soon, because her computer had gone kaput but should be fixed soon hopefully.

For how long will the current world be in use?

My huge temple under construction will take long time to complete, just wondering if it's any use continuing its construction.

My computer has been as well kaput for a very long period. I get it back by christmas and I will definitely come back to server if that java problem does not exist.

At most, I might schedule a little more downtime to run something different for a bit. Host something for SSC, maybe make STAB into something more substantial by running RO or OA/A2 server.

I mean, I don't mind having the second machine running, but I do want to make use of it. Otherwise it's just money down the drain on my end. That doesn't mean I'll just put up Minecraft every now and then when I'm bored: it's first function is hosting that. But as it stands now, it makes more sense for me to shut it down a few hours 2 or 3 times a week and do something different.

To be honest, I quite like that notion. Minecraft 24/7 is too much of a good thing, just like that dedicated ArmA server a while ago just ran out of steam after a while. I'm quite willing to host just about anything if there's a desire for it.

As for the map, I figured January 1st at the earliest, but that's just a suggestion. Forcing people to move on while they're not willing is going to do more harm than good.

And it's not a democracy either: if 90% wants to move on while the others want another month, it's gonna take another month.

(just saying I'll sooner negotiate a compromise than just go with the majority vote)

That IS going to be huge, I took a walk over there the other day and had a look around, and if and when it's done, it's going to be very spectacular. I hope to extend the District line to the outskirts, from Bromley-By-Bow to Bow Road, but at the moment I'm extending the Jubilee from North Greenwich over to mkeabs Wyrmberg, or Canary Wharf (Canary Wyrm?).

Just to note that I have also started playing (decided to get the game). As usual I am late in joining in and hardly anyone is around.

I'm set up south of that temple ATM, and may make an island fortress somewhere in the vicinity at some point if we are not server resetting any time soon.

Ja, myself also enjoy this game.

The only problem is I'm in the middle of finals so gaming isn't much of an option atm.

I also find (maybe it's just me) that whenever I'm on it's deserted. No ones fault, but I might as well just play SMP for that lol.

Anyways, glad to hear your keeping the servers up.

Cheers,

Krauter

Almost forgot: scheduled downtime for tomorrow 12:00(pm)GMT. Swapping out a PSU, shouldn't take more than 30mins.

Also, I'd like to host SSC ArmA game in the evening, 21:00GMT is the usual time. Should last for a few hours, provided people show up (some prefer to get drunk on a Friday ) and I don't pass ou-, I mean, get drugged by the evil gnome again.

That sucks.

Right, so "swapping out a PSU" turned into "do maintenance on 3 machines and rewire the whole network".

Back in business. Removed a switch from the setup, so now the server has direct line to router. Might make a difference, prolly not.

Is the Minecraft server currently down? Or is my connection just terrible.

Moving into beta the 20th:
Quote:
With Beta comes a larger focus on polish and content, and we’ll start early on with adding proper modding support with a stable API, and we’d love all input we can get on this from the modders out there. We’ll also add some kind of non-intrusive narrative to the game to help drive the game experience early on, and to provide some kind of late game goal. There will be a bigger focus on testing and stability as well, with more time between updates.

When the game enters beta, the price will rise to 14.95 Euro.

I had the same response. Unbelievable.

Right, lagging for the next 30-40 mins, actually using my connection to download something.

*I swear to god, you lot are bloody psychic. Nobody on for hours so I figure I might get away with a download, and not 5 mins after I start 2 people log on. Every single time.
