Not particularly, but my eyesight has seen better days.
What I normally do is use Gimp to cut out the selected part and then if it's smaller than 300x300 (or thereabouts) I use imgur to increase the size.

So it would look like this:

I could do that with Gimp I recon.

Anyway there you have it.
What is this? This is merely part of the entire thing obviously it is a painting so what is the name of the painting and who is the artist? each answer/guess has to include both the name of the painting and the artist or best guess. Attention to details.

I predict this will need a few clues...I can't even get close.

Actually no.

It's Rembrandts "The Nightwatch"

comparing your picture with what's on Wikipedia, I'd say it could also be a forgery of said painting, or that the picture on wikipedia was taken after a restoration

I'll try to find a picture when I get home from work, or Stealhead posts the confirmation, whichever is later.

Impressive, I'd have never have gotten that, even though I'm aware of the painting.

Anyway, here's the larger picture of my one:

There was something about it that made me search for Rembrandt paintings, I can't really explain why.

It is The Night Watch. Not you could be right. The smaller sample was a different source. The larger onr was from Wiki. I. Only did an image search so it could be a fake.

Dag nabbit I was worried there might be an art major lurking. Sorry just a link cant seem to get my phone to copy the image http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi..._Rembrandt.jpg
