December 1940, North of Irish coast.
Found a large convoy, fired all four bow and two stern torpedoes, five hit. One tanker exploded immediately, others (some listing) continue with the rest of the convoy.
First reload is ready, I'm aiming it when the infamous pinging starts. I'm too slow to react and take a direct hit from depth charge, heavy flooding, boat sinks stern first, blowing ballast doesn't help.
Sinking past 150 meters, 250 meters...

Flooding is stopped by damage control crew and using almost all of the compressed air, the boat finally stops sinking, depth: 300 meters.

For a second I think that we will make it, but we are too deep, and continue to take damage from pressure, stern compartments are nearly full of water and this weight is keeping as down.

I didn't make it.

You did what you could, and the pressure is so strong, so that the hull gives way ... and then it may be a matter of time, in some cases you can do it in others not, but you came again,

9 Jan. 1943, Grid: AM 2

After attacking a large convoy (sinking a T3 tanker and a C2 Cargo) i am being hunted down by 2 destroyer escorts. My torp fired from the stern-tube hit 1 of the **** head on. It's bad luck to chase me...

Default Just another night.

My current desktop background
Just another night patrolling around Scapa Flow. I just nailed a small merchant (Torpedo hit her right in the nose.)
