Oh my, did I sound that delusional?

Perhaps I should revise that statement at some point.

Thanks, much better.
- I'm creating a webpage for our server at the moment. I'm not too proficient, so it's learn as I go, but I'm thinking a group picture would make a nice background for the index page (Spike's idea). I'm also thinking of making pages for individual players, where they decide what goes on there. Bit of text, screenshots of projects, that sort of thing. I might couple a not strictly Minecraft-related FTP server as well, though I don't know what to host on there. Maybe the maps and backed up worlds, maybe popular texture packs, etc. And a donate button. Not that I expect it to be used, but obviously it would be appreciated. I say this now so it doesn't come as a surprise, like a sneaky way of sending a message. (at the same time I'd suggest to hold off on donations till Januari, should you wish to contribute. Electric bill might not be so bad after all) I can assure you that I'm dedicated to running the server for as long as it is practical, meaning that as long as we have players, it will be there. Given that I can afford to do so, but I don't think it will be that problematic. (again though, we'll know in Januari) It will be a while before I get it sorted, but we could get that picture done. Was thinking Sunday, 22:00GMT. Feel free to comment or make a suggestion.

Good idea, Arclight! Unfortunately I am not able to play minecraft until my computer is fixed and I get it back. Old laptop, which I've used to play MC, decided to destroy itself so that it's almost inoperable. I assume it's around two week break for me so no participation on group picture from my behalf.

Ah, plenty of opportunities to update it.
Site is actually coming along. Almost suffered a ragequit on both getting HTTP and FTP working but I think I'm catching on. Lion can reach HTTP, but not FTP. Don't know if it's config issue or because he uses Firefox.

Right, people have a look and tell me if I missed any players. Sure I did, grown to a fair number over time. Feel free to point out spelling mistakes, even if it's just a lowercase instead of uppercase or something.
http://77.166.66.44/ Pretty much placeholder material to work with, but if it works I don't intend to change too much. Let me know if you get prompted for credentials by FTP or not, still working on that.

No problems accessing the page for me. EDIT: 1218Z - Now getting a 403 Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. Last edited by Oberon; 11-20-10 at 07:19 AM. |

Great idea, Arc!
Maybe give this a go at some point? http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewto...p?f=10&t=48641 Would be nice to have the map update every, say 6 hours or so. As for donations, yeh I think I can start contributing in January. Also, FTP won't open for me, times out. |

I was thinking that Dowly, it would integrate well.
Hopefully I'll have a few bits of brass lying around in the new year to send your way Arc. I get a time out on the FTP as well, but the site itself works fine at the moment and that's at 1438Z. In other news, the District Line is now branching out from West Ham, heading for Plaistow which will be next to TFs fortress line I think, from there I might curve it left and head for Spike...we'll have to see how it goes. Advice to everyone though, start putting around torches like there's no tomorrow, make sure everything is lit up, I had TF go through the tunnels last night and put down more torches because when I moved the last map to SP when we started this one, I had spiders spawning in the Greenwich foot tunnel... Still...it would be a new cause of delay for LUL: "Ladies and gentleman, there is a delay on the Jubilee Line. This is due to spiders on the tracks..." I'm also going to start fencing off the tracks, should hopefully stop mobs straying onto the line. |

FTP server is busting my balls without remorse. Also I'd like to point out that 24hrs ago I didn't even know how to make a web page; wouldn't hold my breath just yet. * temp solution: dump cartograph in site root. Generate map. Display map on site. When I sip ma coffee each morning I hit 'generate' and 15 mins later there's a new map.
