A little birdy told me that anyone can conduct an investigation by opening the following list of files from this mod in S3D:
Bombs_UKDC.dat
Bombs_UKDC.sim
DepthCharges_UK.dat
DepthCharges_UK.sim
DepthCharges_UK.zon
DepthCharges_US.dat
DepthCharges_US.sim
DepthCharges_US.zon
guns_radars_CCCP.dat
guns_radars_CCCP.sim
guns_radars_CCCP.zon
guns_radars_UK.dat
guns_radars_UK.sim
guns_radars_UK.zon
guns_radars_US.dat
guns_radars_US.sim
guns_radars_US.zon
NSS_Uboat14.dat

There is no way the thieves could have known that Lurker's name is in the author section of each file. I recommend that this thread be deleted and the authors be permanently banned from Subsim.

The tragedy is that had they asked Lurker's permission, he is the kind of guy that would give them the keys to the kingdom and teach them how to drive. Is that a mixed metaphor or what?

Looking forward to Kapt Lehmann's investigation and what he finds. I think I don't need to provide a prediction.... I know that GWX has embedded ID info also, so I'm looking forward to an unambiguous answer. People do not steal because they are smart. They do it because they are not.

Some people obviously prefer to run with the hares and hunt with the hounds.

Currently this is under investigation. All looks to be true. I have alerted Neal to the facts. Some actions will take place. All, please do not think this has been put to rest.

I would lock this thread but do not have the moderators authority to do so. I will alert the others who can.

No.

Concerning GWX file content:

Taking without asking is wrong and hurtful. Pure and simple. I am sure that the folllowing is not lost on anyone:

MODERATOR HAT ON:

Hi!

@AVG_Warhawk: Thanks for the tip-off!

@All:

It's my general policy to help posters moderate their behavior only when they prove unable to do so themselves, so I generally won't lock threads pre-emptively.

That being said, I have some free advice to help keep this thread unlocked:
  • If you feel your modding products are directly involved in this issue, please contact the SH4-Flotilla 24 team directly via PM to try to work this out there. Neal is aware of the issue, so contact Neal via PM only if you are unable to resolve your concerns directly with the SH4-Flotilla 24 team.
  • If you are not directly involved, stay on the sidelines and let the affected parties work it out.
  • If you have any other questions, please feel to contact me via PM.
Thanks!

Pablo

Agreed.

However, links on the first page continue to distribute the affected material.

I think at the very least, they should be removed for the duration of this matter.

MODERATOR HAT ON:

Hi!

Your request is noted; however, I have your PM on this subject and will respond via that channel, so please desist from trying to resolve this issue here.

Thanks!

Very well.

I had no acknowledgement that you'd received my PM's.

This MOD have some problems:

1.
There is not a person in the base. Screen shot is other MOD.

2.
No deck gunners and AAguners.

3.
Some DD no skin.

Can't beleive... 4 pages of thread on a new mod - without a single screenshot ?

Should I upgrade my PC for a "blind date" with SH4 Atlantic ?

Ok, I'd like that kind of comments to stop. I was in talks with Neal and Kpt. Lehmann, and while I agreed to make the necessary apologies on behalf of Richi (because this permissions issue was a mistake he made without bad faith), I didn't agree for us being offended or flamed (by being called thieves or things like that, which are completely false).

I've also agreed to the links being temporarily removed from SubSim until this matter is solved with each mod creator individually, thing I'll be doing in the upcoming days as fast as I can.

I thank Neal and Kpt. Lehmann for their kindness and patience in this matter, which has made it easier to clear the facts behind this error, which I'll be explaining in my general apology.

I agree. The very last thing we want to do is brand someone a thief or a plagiarist. We've seen even some big time mod groups make a mistake and include work from other modders they were unaware of. Always give people the benefit of the doubt and work with them. In most cases, they will gladly meet you half way. Martes is working on this, if anyone can straighten this out to the best effect, it is him. Thanks for your patience.
