Decided I'd not go outside in the day time.
I mean MAYBE it's the Sun's Corona causing this?

Use lots of sunscreen and refresh the aluminum foil in your hard hat

That will cover you for a few hours at least

So whose country is going to take up the slack manufacturing generic antibiotics to treat secondary infections? Seems India may be stopping generic drug exports to use them for their own population.

Sent Wife out to buy 100 boxes of foil.
You think that might start a run on foil?

If also outfitted in the above pictured tin foil suit. People will panic and flee the store giving you first dibs on hand sanitizer and toilet paper.

Next question.

I find people grabbing butt wipe paper as the really stupid ones.
Same with water depending on where your at.

I've not seen that wiping your behind is a critical need for survival.
Now you'd be better off buying dried foods or some such.

Last I did research on survival? I found no issues wiping the arse as as cause of concern.

grabbing water makes sense, e.g. in Saudi Arabia

So.
Given panic.
Would I be arrested walking into WalMart in a Tin Foil suit with a full oxygen mask and tank?

No, authorities have barricaded themselves in the local donut shop and will not be available until next fall or when they run out of donuts which ever comes first.

Next question.

Water-supply is electricity-driven. That includes toilet flushing. Wait until a blackout hits towns and cities for days - and then see if you want to walk down the street without a gas mask.

Biological needs like these are given the least concern by hobby survivalists, usually, but in urban scenarios inside big cities that is a big, big mistake.

Also, it is a personal hygienics issue. Only a fool would underestimate this.

It makes sense in every place that suffers from a lasting blackout.

In 2003 I think it was when we had a snow desaster north of Münster, the Northern Münsterland region. Almost 300.000 people had no power for up to 5 days. And many of them (not all) also no water. For German standards, it really was quite bad.

There is no such thing as untouched nature in an industrialised country like Germany. None of the rivers or lakes in the north and middle holds water that can be used as drinking water just by dripping it through some charcoal filter. Not even rain water is free of chemical intoxication once it no longer flies in the cloud but rains down throgh the layers of polluted air.

Drinking water is a priority. Always. Everywhere. Survival water filters and purifiers as beign sold in outdoor shops will not help you much in a place without untouched, clean nature. They cna filter out biolgoicial hazuards, and quite reliably. But no chemical ones. If that were so easy, we would not need so many high-poriced water purification plants, and these plants would not have so big problems to get the job done.

Thats why I prefer rice, grains and corns over noodles for keeping dry food stock (and that says a man who loves well-done Italian pasta, I have pasta at least two times a week). Cooking them wastes considerable less water, and you consume all the water used for cooking. With pasta and potatoes, plenty of water remains, gets wasted. And drinking it, is not really of a taste you want to get used to easily.

Los Angeles coronavirus patient is a medical screener at LAX airport.
Quote:
One of the newly announced coronavirus cases in Los Angeles county is a medical screener at Los Angeles International Airport, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

This contract worker had not been at work for more than a week before developing symptoms, DHS says. It is unclear whether the virus was contracted through their work with travelers or via community spread.

The patient is currently isolated at home with mild symptoms.
New York confirms 5 new cases of coronavirus. 1,000 people asked to self-quarantine.
Quote:
A total of six people across metro New York are infected with coronavirus, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday.

They include the city's first case of community spread -- meaning the source of infection is unknown.

That patient, an attorney in his 50s, is hospitalized at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

The man has an underlying respiratory condition that made him more vulnerable to the virus, said Dr. Howard Zucker, commissioner of the New York State Department of Health.

The attorney has connections across metro New York City. He works at the Lewis and Garbuz law firm in Manhattan, and his family lives in suburban Westchester County.

His 20-year-old son attends Yeshiva University in Manhattan, and his 14-year-old daughter attends SAR Academy and High School in the Bronx.

Now, the man's wife, son, daughter and a neighbor who drove him to the hospital are all infected with coronavirus, Cuomo said.

About 1,000 people are being asked to self-quarantine after the five latest cases, Cuomo said.

** (New Article) **

The family from New Rochelle is believed to have been in contact with the 50-year old attorney, who has since been hospitalized. The attorney and his family were confirmed to have the virus earlier today.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in New York to 11.

We have learned of 5 new confirmed cases of #COVID19, bringing the total of confirmed cases to 11.

The cases are all in a single family from New Rochelle: A 46yo woman, her 45yo husband, and 3 of their children.

The entire family is under self-quarantine.
https://edition.cnn.com/asia/live-ne...hnk/index.html

Damn, this virus is contagious. A neighbor drives the infected attorney to the hospital (whose entire family of 4 is already infected), becomes infected himself, and then immediately infects his entire family of 5.
