Trust me, you didn't miss anything. Those rocker switches were very loud and "poppy" and were prone to wearing out after a couple of months.
They were also designed for A/C power.

Oh, I am well aware of the problems with those switches; a friend back in the day in the 60s had a Teisco model that sported those same switches; some models even came with slide switches in place of the rockers; there were some very bizarre guitar configurations back in the 60s; what I wanted to hear was the sound of four pickups on all at the same time, at full volume; hey, I was a 16-17 year old kid at the time: loud and bizarre was a norm for me...

Speaking of bizarre, here is a truly "outta sight" groovy axe:

Spectrum 5 --

When you read the construction specs on the above guitar, and you note it was regarded as the top of the line for Teisco, one might get the impression a lot of those early guitars were of some quality, but an awful lot of them were...well...awful. Some of the Danelectro models were made with Masonite tops and backs (i still have the remnants of a Coral sitar made by the same Danelectro folks) and sported war surplus, military grade control pots; guitars were made of just about anything and everything back then...

Ah, what a truly glorious time to have been alive and young...

Nice find, feel like "reeling back the years" (which was one of another band but..), we played the Beatles tunes up and down, through parties, the white album, laughing at the world and with it.. captures this feeling

An epic performance by Tran-Siberian Orchestra. Just another reason why TSO remains a must see show, especially their Christmas shows and performances.

What a masterpiece. Does it get any better than kids singing in harmony with the backing of violins and an orchestra ? Very appropriate for Christmas.

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope it's safe and joyous one for all of the members here and your families.

When I'm playing SHCE or AOTD, I prefer to listen to big band/swing music from the mid-30s to mid 40s era (anything else just feels wrong).

But lately I've sinned and listened to this while playing Silent Victory:
