sorry...much smaller and older; but still mighty handy for repelling two-dozen boarders...as I almost had to do aboard the SF-Vallejo ferry back in 2000 when suddenly summoned from the 200+ pasenger salon to the bridge by the captain...during my evening commute home after a day of bailiffing my Social Security Appeals Court. And I only had a 6-shot S&W revolver and two speed-loaders; I never rode the ferry again after that!

Thats it! the 40-round Guenot/Guycot chain gun Over to Catfish!
Quote:
With a total of 40 shots the French Invented Guycot Chain Pistol was quite ahead of it’s time. Very impressive thinking on their part.
If you compare that to the modern day Glock17 9mm pistol(or my Baretta DAO with 16) with 17 rounds or less. This blast from the past gun is pretty awesome to have and it sure outclass the modern pistol in firepower. There was also a Guycot rifle which holds 80 cartridges.
Compared to their competitors during that era, the Colt revolver (holds 6 cartridges ala my .357 Python) and the Henry rifle (which can only hold 16 cartridges Ala my own in .44), the Guycot pistol and rifle have a huge advantage in capacity. However, they never really caught on

Ok what is this?

I believe they were like hollow minie bullets; filled with fulminate or quick powder powder

It is chambered for a unique 6.5mm caseless rocket ball type cartridge in which the base of the projectile is hollowed out and contains the propellant powder and a primer.
similar to those used brutally in the Civil War as with my larger .577 canellured hollow pure lead rounds used by my beloved two-band re-enactment Enfield < these go in the size of a quarter and come out the size of a .50-cent piece ie: in 1860-65 you were either amputated or dead...

Are the blades of the propeller (lower right side) really that small, or was the picture just taken with the blades at an odd angle?
