I can't believe what they had to go through to get out of that dying coal mining town.
I bought the DVD and have watched it several times.
I never heard of it until they showed it. It was great.

Saw Identity Thief tonight. My mom rented it and we watched it.

I give it a 1.8 out of 5.

It sucked. Don't bother.

One of the best movies I've ever seen.
Definitely would be in my top-10 list, if
I had one.

Mine too, that movie is just awesome. Most of my favorite war movies have been named so far but here's another I really like.

"Attack"

One of the finest movies ever made, and one I had completely forgotten about. Of course it's been fifty years since I saw it. I read the book shortly thereafter, and remember being amazed at how true to the book the film was. Also I didn't know at the time who Robert Duvall was, or William Windom, or Brock Peters. What a cast!

Of course now I'll have to get a copy and see it again. It's been too long.

I read the book also, but many, many years ago. This story was based on true events in her life, no?

Most of the characters seem to be based on people she knew, and the central storyline seems to be from her personal history.

Tru dat. The character of Dill is definitely based on Truman Capote; they remained friends for years. If you watch Capote (I think that's the one, there's more than one recent Capote biopic) you'll see Harper Lee portrayed in her real life role as his assistant and confidante as well as scenes related to the publication of Mockingbird.

Definitely one of the best movies ever, we saw it in school after reading the book. Have watched it many times since and own one of the collector's edition sets which includes a delightful documentary about Peck made by one of his kids, IIRC. During the time period over which the doc was filmed one of Peck's kids was expecting a child and when it was born they named it Scout. That's how important the book and film were to Peck and his family, and rightly so.

And almost endless source of excellent quotes in that movie.

Most of which can't be posted on Subsim without being brigged.

There's one that I can think of without being brigged.
