Prince Edward inspects veterans of the Indian Army. Ship Losses: Yannakis (Greece) The cargo ship was stranded on the eastern side of Praa Sands, Cornwall, United Kingdom. She was driven further ashore by successive gales. Yannakis was refloated in January 1922 and towed to Penzance by the salvage vessels The Lady and Greencastle (both United Kingdom).

W. L. Mackenzie King becomes the 10th Prime Minister of Canada following the Liberal Party victory in the Canadian federal elections earlier this month. The U.S. begins minting the “Peace dollar,” a silver coin commemorating peace after the Great War. De-commissioned battleship HMS Prince George is wrecked off the coast of Camperduin, Netherlands while being towed to Germany for scrapping. Ship Losses: NRP Covado and NRP Zazere (Portuguese Navy) The Zezere-class torpedo boats were wrecked on Cape Bon while being delivered to Portugal from Austria-Hungary as war reparations. Grubstake (United States) The 14-gross register ton motor vessel was ran aground 3 nautical miles (5.6 km; 3.5 mi) south of Smugglers Cove (55°37′N 131°53′W) on Revillagigedo Island in the Alexander Archipelago in Southeast Alaska. The two people on board survived. She broke up on 29 December. Karitane (United Kingdom) The cargo ship ran aground on Deal Island, Tasmania, Australia and was wrecked.

Ship Losses: Reine des Mers (France) The schooner was abandoned in the Atlantic Ocean. (44°50′N 51°29′W) with the loss of her captain. Survivors were rescued by Hudson ( United States). Storebelt (Denmark) The cargo ship lost her propeller and consequently came ashore at Hirtshals. Her crew were rescued by rocket apparatus.

Edward, Prince of Wales (left), prepares for a wild boar hunt at Jodhpur, India. The man on the right holds steel-tipped bamboo lances for the hunt. Explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton has passed away. He suffered a heart attack on South Georgia Island while heading to Antarctica for the Shackleton-Rowett Expedition. Ship Losses: Active (United Kingdom) The coaster foundered in the Irish Sea between the Blackwater and Lucifer Lightships (both United Kingdom). Her crew survived. Canterbury Hill (United Kingdom) The cargo ship capsized and sank in the bristol Channel. Her crew were rescued by Branstone ( United Kingdom).

Accidentally stumbled about this, there is even a video where he was invited to fly in a two-seater Spitfire at the youthful age of 95

The British government announces an amnesty for Irish political prisoners following the ratification of the Anglo-Irish Treaty. French Prime Minister Astride Briand resigns for being unable to resolve German intransigence towards reparation payments. Ship Losses: C. C. Mengel, Jr. (United States) The schooner came ashore on Morant Cays, Jamaica and was wrecked. Tidal (United Kingdom) The coaster foundered in the North Sea 10 nautical miles (19 km) off Lowestoft, Suffolk. All fifteen people on board were rescued by Dalton ( United Kingdom).
