Is this an adaptation of the free camera, or a second fixed pov to the IXB rear flak possition.

No its part of the bridge view. The view has been released with this optional mod, so when you click the mouse to "turn your head" You can use the arrow keys to move forwards back and strafe and the numpad 1 and 7 keys to move up and down. Just like the free cam.

Basically I used it to move the bridge (F4) view so the camera was down on the deck behind the conning tower.

That is a IXC U-Boat. U-66

Just a couple of questions about it though. I remember I tried Segbuto's mod, but was in two minds about how it altered the apparent perspective. I think it was somehting to do with the mod using the stock camera views or something. But the IXB I was in looked much thinner. I decided not to use it. Also, is there a means of returning the bridge view to it's default possition which I don't think the mod originaly did. Might be interesting to try again though, it was a while ago.

As I say this is adapted from sergbuto to be used in GWX 2 and its a JSGME optional mod not built in fully to the actual install.

You can return the camera to its original starting position by simply moving it back there. The beauty of it is, you can move past a crew man to see in that direction if he is in the way.

Calm weather at last, and a contact report of a task force. One thing about task forces with carriers.
You don't have to look for them, if you are close enough they come looking for you.

They sent three more

And three more

The final pair.

Spent the rest of the day alternating between the hydrophone and high speed surface searching. Found them
much later crossing my path, just visible on the horizon. The main elements of the task force were a revenge class,
an illustriouse class carrier and yes, the Hood!. At an estimated 28 Knots, I didn't even bother trying to chase.
Ah well, ah well.

Back to the drudgery, with a possible convoy somewhere. So some hope for an improvement.

A close call after an afternoon of hydrophone tracking. Made a sharp turn and going briefly to PD,
avoided being sighted

Passing an A.I IXB as it turns toward the escort I avoided a few minutes earlier

A.I IXB
