It's a perfect fit for a Euro style pillow sham. Which will be decorative. Meaning anyone in my house caught laying his head on it will get a slap upside same.

I always hated stuff like that.... The stuff just for show... Like those dang Fake Drawers.

I will never put something like that in my house. It has to have a purpose.

The purpose of a decorative item is to be decorative.

But I'm totally with you on the fake drawer issue.

If it doesn't do something useful...I'll pass.

I got a B in Art Class. At church camp last year, I was known as the kid who got a B in Art by the Crafts Direcotor. I'm not an art person. I was the kid in preschool who didn't decorate his valentine's day box. (Frankly, Valentine's Day has been nothing but disappointment) I can be creative...but that's about it. I can't do much decorative or arts/crafts type of stuff. When I'm settled in on something that I can concentrate on, I get it done.

I've been told that I "walk with a purpose..." Not sure if compliment or not though.

I get right to the point (That's been biting me in the butt lately) and I don't like to waste tim- Actually, I waste time sometimes. But, I don't see the purpose of pillows for show or chairs that aren't meant to be sat in. The Fake Drawers have to be the worst though. I guess that's why we have women in this world. Too bad we'll never figure them out. Them and their fancy "decorations"

I'm in complete agreement, however I find beautiful surroundings to be extremely useful, lol.

Riiiiiiight. Let's just count how many men here have, say, models of ships and planes and whatnot displayed in their homes. They serve no purpose except to take up space and be looked at. It's not a gender thing, is what I'm saying. Everybody has his/her own definition of "useful."

First you need to finish your schooling, earn enough to buy a house and then you'll have the 'luxury' of deciding what to put in it

OK Frau, can you please stop just typing random words and tell us what you've bought?

I've never understood why some men are so opinionated where women are concerned, especially "men" who haven't had time to experience the world, and most of their opinions they got from someone else.

It's a funny thing. I have a couple of huge "coffee-table" books with giant pictures from outer space. I don't have a coffee table to put them on, and I doubt I would if I did have one. I build model airplanes for the love of building them. The ones that aren't in a gaming box are sold or given away. I really don't have anything decorative displayed anywhere. I have a couple of diecast cars that stay in their boxes in a drawer, mainly to save me from the temptation to take them apart and refinish them "properly". I don't even have my guitars on display. The ones that I don't play every day are in their cases in my bedroom.

That's not defending men, because many of us do have our decorative side. It's just my observation on my own sorry self.

Given some men's preferences regarding the opposite sex, I suspect that if we removed from the world everything that was merely "decorative" and served no other useful purpose they would soon find themselves regretting their insistence on strict utilitarianism.

My wife approves of this comment
