As I repeatedly said, surgicla maks do not do much good, what you want are so-called respirator masks or half-masks of FFP3 standard. Surgical masks do not protect you from others that much, and that is not their purpose anyway -they help a bit to protect the others from you (if you are a spitting or heavy-breathing infectous patient, or are a surgeon breathing into the wounds of a patient you do surgery on).

This is No-No:

(almost no protection for the wearing person)

This is Gimme-gimme-wannahave:

(if filter is FFP3, this is good protection for the wearing person)

Consider wearing protective glasses if they ever find infection to work via the eye's mucosa as well:

Hmmm if i understood what this dr said. the spike in cases isnt from a sudden burst of new infections. the first set of numbers we were told of were underestimated. this spike is from now knowing the reality of the current circumstance. new infections still appear to be tapering off.

The spike indeed comes form a new counting method and a new diagnostic procedure that produces more reliable results, where as the test they did before, a genetic test, had a error quote of around 50%, which renders it almost useless. The new one however strill is far form fail-safe, but catches a higher number of ill people.

However, German media today occasionally reported about anonymous experts in China estimating the real number of infected and of deaths as higher than the regime admits - by a a factor of around 20. In words: TWENTY.

If the pandemic - thats what it is in China at least now - stays centred in China and can be contained, we will never know the real numbers from there. The regime will bury the real statistics in its deepest basement safes for decades to come.
