What this cat is doing is s/he is using its palate to smell- When they do this they pull their open their mouth withdraw upper lip and when they do this it could look like they are angry.

Waggling the tail seemingly inviting a dog to play really means "stay away or ... scratch"
And "flehmen" is a german word, though seldom used. A cat does it to extend its smelling senses, for something new or interesting, or disturbing things, to get a better reception and take it all in. So it is not a threat as you rightly wrote.

We have a book about cats where there is the face of a cat shown on several photos, said to be expressing all feline stages of being calm or aroused, or plain aggressive.

A little while ago Jim posted a comment to the effect that " coincidence is God's way of letting you know he's around". Something like that, and it stuck in my mind.

Over the years I've ( and I'm sure I'm not the only one ) noticed that with the map of the world there's some peculiar shapes.

The Sea of Okhotsk looks like a rabbit, Italy looks like a boot, there's a few more but for the moment I've forgotten them.

God or maybe Slarty Bardfast had fun making the world.
