Numbers like those are really only from playing the game as an arcade type. If you play it as a historical simulation, you will hardly ever approach 100,000 tons. It would take a lot of large warships to reach that total. you would also have to let a lot of targets go unharmed to find them, something skippers did not do.
So I like to play as a skipper in the 40's, with all the frustrations endured by the submariners then. I want to play a historical WW2 simulation, not an arcade game. |

Playing TMO+RSRD, early war unreliable torpedoes, in a Porpoise (16 fish), I'm happy with 10,000 tons.
20,000 tons would be a cause for much celebration. |

I had ~13000 on my last patrol. Would have been ~23000 if I hadn't run into the world's luckiest tanker.
