CTD - it's not just a job

Depends upon what you were given as a link. Do you have the "Folder", or just the file. If you just have a link to the file, I'll do a little "private" area for the CTDs. Of course, by the time we get that, RR will have the 30 version out...

Well - that was a complete bust
6 contacts 3 Dutch 2 Australian 1 US What a waste of time Never mind - Feb '42 out of Surabaya I have just been asked to land an agent on Sumatra This involves transiting the Java Sea I bloody hate the Java Sea I have had so many TMO careers ended there Might as well just ask me to drive my sub into the local swimming pool - for all the good it will do me

1. What was your first assignment(s) then? I know, the last time I went out of Manila / Surabaya, all I encountered of the enemy early in the war was airplanes... In a sugar boat... ain't much room to crash dive there, is there? |

Great to have you back. Hope you have a better cruise next time. Note that the AI is really high--I'd say 50% more intelligent than TMO. It's really tough. I didn't like the sonar sound much--seemed way to quiet to me. And there was no depth charge splash sound. I'm looking for a solution to that tonight.

Having read Silent Victory recently I was surprised by the number of times Boats in the South West Pacific were diverted to Troop insertions, troop pickups, commando raids, supply runs, photos of beaches for upcoming operations, do weather reports for upcoming hit and run raids (Halsey springs to mind before the Coral Sea) etc... It was a lot more than I thought it would be Admittedly - not once did a boat out of Pearl get asked to photograph Tokyo Harbour Admittedly - that one is just frikkin' dumb From what I remember reading Silent Victory - this kind of special operations stuff happened to the boats working out of Surabaya/Freemantle for the first two years or so - until they figured out it was better to use subs to attack enemy shipping. To be honest with you I have a feeling a lot of the High Brass did not know what to do with Subs, so they tried everything Anyway - the point of my post. By all means stamp out the specials from subs operating out of Pearl/Midway But please do not eliminate them for Boats operating out of Surabaya/Freemantle, at least for the first 2 years of the war It looks like in this case the DEVS got it more or less right By all means eliminate the more ridiculous ones (infiltrate Singapore Harbour - I am looking at you ) But a lot of them I think still work I know this is a team effort, and we also have RR as COB If necessary I will re read Silent Victory, make notes, cite passages from it to back up my position. Then what the hell - maybe we can put it to a vote? What say you team?? Then again I am well aware FOTRSU is a democracy run on the principle of one man one vote RR is the man - he has the vote

I cannot remember for sure now, but I know it involved turning up the volume using SH3D in a file that could only be opened by SH3D (ie it was not a cfg file) Try looking in Data/Sound/Sh.sdl

Is it in GFO?... I remember hearing it somewhere just not too long ago...
max-peck, some places would call it a dictatorial democracy, but we lovingly refer to it as an autocratic democracy... Edit: check the "P18_&KGun_water_splash.wav" and the "_hyd" version Last edited by propbeanie; 11-18-16 at 09:05 PM. Reason: KGun |

Maybe Ducimus just used a sound editor to make that WAV file louder? Don't even know if that is even a thing - just thinking aloud here

There's a controller for it somewhere, and I do remember seeing it, but whether it's in the SH.SDL or in the DAT files for the ships, I do not remember...

I would like to see lifeguard Duty added to Fall of the Rising sun if it's not already added.
