^ I think the Grumman was post-war, 1950 (?)
So a R2800-32W Series E? But a fail to see that there was only one plane with it installed .. a C. Vought Corsair model Night fighter variant

No. There seems to be confusion about this I'm not trying to create. The aircraft has already been named but not the variant the engine photo I posted was put in. That engine has been established as an R2800 double wasp with a two stage supercharger close to the R2800-30W used by the Bearcat. The engine in the photo was only used in that one aircraft variant.

Or simply the F4U-5 as photo recon. The two stage variable speed supercharger giving it the speed and altitude performance required. What is interesting to me is this supercharger system and the single stage version are US versions of the supercharger system installed into the Bf-109.
