That's a really beautiful engine. What scale is that?

You are welcome
It's an old 1:87 (HO) Tyco die-cast 'General', this is a kit version which came in pieces and without paint. Motor is in the tender, and there is a worm drive that drives the locomotive's big wheels. (My other old favourite is a Rivarossi 'Genoa', but it is a rather late, post civil-war 4-4-0. And yes i am a big fan of Buster Keaton's film "The General" ) I like the ballasting of the rails on your layout very much, those rails look astonishingly real . I was looking for 'flatter' rails, as the pre 1868 ones were not as thick and study as later. In those times it also was wide-track of course, but i will not change that.. |

Looks HO to me, and I agree, that is a beautiful loco...American 4-4-0, I do love those old log burners, a classical US design. Like the famous 'The General'.
I think I have an HO 4-4-0 somewhere that a friend of my mothers gave me, and some boxcars. Nowhere to display it sadly so it's tucked away for future use. |

Just finished wiring this bus for headlights using fiber optics. My first attempt with this type of model lighting and i'm pleased with the result.
Materials I drilled out the head and tail lights and ran in the fibers. Then drilled out the head of the LED and super glued the ends into the hole. I melted the end of the fibers into a ball and glued them in place Drilled a hole through the layout and mounted it in place

You might want to check this type of lighting out. Bet those airplane models would look sharp with running lights.

Yeah, I reckon your right but the old eyesight leaves a lot to be desired these days, hence the collection being diecast

Going to put lights in those Hurst Olds August? You should put lights in a cop car, and have it chasing one of those Hursts!
